MGWS-DO Series Downdraft Grossing Workstation
Medimeas Downdraft Grossing Workstation model MGWS-DO is used in Pathology Laboratories to provide a well lighted, fumes free, clean and hygenic work area for pathologists to perform a macroscopic examination of incoming tissues. The workstation is equipped to capture photos and videos of the tissues along with a commentary/summary from the pathologists. An optional Fresh Formalin supply and Waste formalin collection system can also be integrated to the workstation.
CONSTRUCTION
It is specially designed to accommodate two users working on each side of the workstation facing each other. Made of high quality SS304 Stainless Steel, it has rigid construction and is resistant to common histopathology chemicals like formalin, xyelene etc. The width, depth, working height can be customized as per user requirement. The standard dimensions are 170x80x180cms, WxDXH with a working height of 70 cms. The design allows for full use of natural light coming in on the worktable from both the sides. Additionally illumination is provided on the overhanging 'bridge'
VENTILATION
The workstation is equipped with downdraft ventilation achieved through a powerful exhaust blower with an airflow of 900 cubic meters per hour. The fumes emanating from the tissue samples and containers on the worktable are sucked down, keep the work area fumes-free for the pathologists. It can also be connected to the labs ventilation system through a 20 cms diameter duct which comes out from the bottom right of the workstation.
WORKAREA
The 200x80 cms workarea comprises of removable perforated work plate and a wash basin. It has an sprinkler system with adjustable flow control underneath the perforated sheets for cleaning. The workarea is brightly illuminated with the the help of lights underneath the overhanging bridge. The sink is located at the center on one side making it accessible to both the users working in the front as well as back. A Polyethene dissecting board can be placed on top of workplates to form trimming of tissues. An option fresh formalin supply system and waste formalin collection system can be provided if required. A extendable hand spray assembly is provided to thoroughly wash the work area after work is completed.
IMAGE CAPTURE AND DISPLAY
There is an option to have a video camera and monitor system installed in the unit to easily capture the specimen photos during macroscopic examination. The live images are displayed on the monitor installed on the station itself. Images can be stored either on the memory card in the camera or on the PC ( optional) connected to the camera.
MOVEMENT
The unit rests on four lockable castors. It can be unlocked and moved when required, for example for floor cleaning purposes.
